MAR named a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Save Energy Now Energy Champion MAR Graphics has received an Energy Champion award for achieving more than 250,000 million Btu total energy savings or more than 15% total energy savings and reporting your progress on schedule. In 2009, ITP awarded 140 plants for making significant progress in implementing the energy savings opportunities identified through a Save Energy Now energy assessment. In total, the award recipients achieved more than $47 million in cost savings and 6.4 trillion Btu in total energy savings.

MAR Graphics hosts Idea Workshop on October 29th The workshop focused on digital print solutions and ideas to increase interaction with print pieces. Attendees were able to spend time with Julie Higgins-Schmidt, a Business Development Consultant with Xerox, gaining insight and ideas on how to harness the power of digital printing to better serve clients. Attendees also learned of new digital and offset print solutions. Solutions that can increase response rates (by raising the level of interaction between the recipient and the printed piece) and/or raise functionality and effectiveness by incorporating an affixed or integrated element. Items such as integrated and affixed stickers, coupons, labels, cards, parking permits and static cling drew high interest from those in attendance.

Print Solutions Expo - Baltimore, MD Oct. 23-25, 2008 MAR Graphics recently exhibited at the PSDA Print Solutions show in Baltimore. Attendance at the show was up from last year and traffic at MAR's booth was very high. The high traffic was attributed to the iPod giveaway MAR promoted with a pre-show mailer in the form of a clear mailing tube w/ a puzzle piece. Response to the mailer was over 20% with attendees bringing puzzle pieces to the show. Three attendees each won an iPod Nano. MAR is growing! MAR just recently completed an expansion project that made room for some major equipment investments over the years to come. The additional space allows for extra room for web presses, including a 10 color Muller Martini Concepta press, as well as other bindery and digital imaging equipment.

MAR adds a second Muller Martini press MAR has completed the purchase of another Muller Martini Concepta Press to add to our other lineup of UV presses. The new press helps us meet the needs of a print industry that consistently requires a higher quality and quicker turnaround. The new 6 color web press is a variable insert press, with 28" and 22" cylinders allowing for a wide range of finished print sizes.
